DEB SHUFELT is president
and founder of Rockland Independent Film Network. She comes from the field
of television news where she worked as an associate producer for the oldest television station in United States, WRGB. She was also the segment producer for Make Over Monday which won in ratings. She recently worked for an Oscar nominated film
production company.
She
got her start in independent film industry during college as production assistant on THE
SHADOW OF A MAN (Len X Clayton), and publicity work for ALBANY INTERNATIONAL SHORT
FILM FESTIVAL (Michael Ellenbogen).
Her
film credits include production manager for the short FACE OF THE ENEMY (Tom
Mercer), script supervisor and production coordinator for SO LONG
BABY (Joe Glickman), a Del Shannon music-video tribute; 2nd Assistant
Director on GOTHIC NIGHTMARE (Al Halstead), and 2nd Assistant Director on FROZEN RIVER (starring Melissa Leo of 21 Grams) which was one of a select few shorts
to be accepted to the prestigious 2004 New York Film Festival.
Deb
is co-founder and president of the new formed Rockland Independent Film Network. She also sat on the board of directors
for Upstate Independents (Albany, NY). Other roles she has
worked on include grant writing, press volunteer (WOODSTOCK FILM FESTIVAL, MANCHESTER (VT) FILM FESTIVAL and FILM COLUMBIA),
and production assistant for commercials.
Deb Shufelt
studied Rhetoric and Communication and Film Studies at the University at Albany.
