Renton "Kirk" Learmont sadly
passed away September 26, 2004.
RENTON KIRK was born in Brooklyn and reared on the island
of Trinidad. He attended Suffield Academy; a private, co-ed prep school in Connecticut on academic scholarship. He went on
to graduate from Georgetown University with a B.A. in Psychology.
He immediately immersed himself in casting
work on feature films and music videos. Principal casting credits included: GOOSED (with Jennifer Tilly, Damon Wayans, Robert
Kline) and FIRE (a dance hall indie). Casting Associate credits include: NUTTY PROFESSOR I, FLAMINGO RISING (Hallmark), ON
THE ONE, MOST WANTED (Keenen Wayans) and ON THE ROAD (Francis Ford Coppola). Extra Casting
credits include: 2FAST 2FURIOUS, AMISTAD, STRAPPED, BOOMERANG, MAJOR PAYNE, and HIGHER LEARNING.
Other crew positions included: assistant
to Brian Grazer of Imagine Entertainment, assistant to Valerie McCaffrey (VP of casting at Newline Cinemas), and actor-trainer
for corporate diversity training seminars.
During his last five years he studied
acting at Strasberg (LA), George Di Cenzo (NY), and Susan Batson (NY). He was represented by The Carson Organization.
Credits include: BAMBOOZLED, INTRODUCING
DOROTHY DANDRIDGE, THE END OF THE RUN, THE CHRIS ROCK SHOW, THE JIM BROWN STORY, and PROUD (recently released Tommy Hilfiger
indie).
